Finally had time to complete this new figure.
The character is Mr. Immortal, thanks to a suggestion from John!
Who is Mr. Immortal in brief:
Mr. Immortal possesses
the superhuman ability of immortality. Before her untimely death, his
teammate and sometimes lover Dinah
Soar was the only one able to calm him down when he was revived, as he was
prone to fits of rage upon returning to life. This unique ability has always
given him the courage to try daring, reckless life-endangering stunts and he is
quite ready to sacrifice himself for the rest of the team. It has also left him
in frequent states of depression by having to watch his loved ones die around
him. He discovered his ability after attempting suicide several times. He is
quoted as saying, "All you're threatening me with is death. And dying's what I
do best!" (Courtesy of Wikipedia).
The final painting:
1-Drakenhof Nightshade blue wash shade (Citadel)
2-Alaitoc Blue (Citadel)3-Guilliman Blue wash glaze (Citadel)
4-Again Alatoic Blue Layer (Citadel), the visible the masks for painting the black (Matt Black Life Color opaque) and white (Matt White Life Coloro opaque) parts. Then painted.
5-Bloodletter Red Wash glaze on red parts again (Citadel).
6-Desert Sand 49 (Life Color) on face plus Flashtone shade wash (Vallejo).
7-Hair: Chrome Yellow (Life Color) plus Flash Gitz Yellow Layer (Citadel) plus a wash with Sepia shade (Vallejo) and finally again Flash Gitz Yellow spotting.
8-Again Alatoic Blue (Citadel) on blue spots, second smoother wash with Flashtone Shade (Vallejo). At the end, not visible here, the final paint on the base: two hands of Matt Black opaque (Lifecolor).
The final result is shown at the beginning.
Well, I have to say I really enjoyed making this Mr. Immortal figure, a scratch built figure mainly produced with Super Sculpey. But above all I hope you anjoyed the tutorial and I hope that the many of you that are not yet involved in this nice hobby to create Superheroes for their own collection will be motivated to try.
Hope to get your comments.
And now...? What's the next?
I think soon I'll start on Rocket Raccon, and probably a couple of pure custom works just in order to not loose practice in customizing Eaglemoss wonderful miniatures!
byezz!
