Marvel Comics Figure #515: Forgotten Characters #8/20 Ultragirl

Ultragirl (real name Susanna "Suzy" Lauren Sherman, also known by her Kree birth name Tsu-Zana) is a superheroine appearing in comic books by Marvel Comics.

Ultragirl was created by writer Barbara Kesel and artist Leonard Kirk. She made her comic book debut in November 1996 in her own three-issue miniseries, Ultragirl #1.

Character History and Origin:

Suzy grew up in Southern California believing she was an ordinary human. As a teenager, she attempted to break into the modeling industry. However, her plans changed drastically when her superpowers suddenly awakened, shifting her body shape into that of an athletic bodybuilder.

During a photo shoot in Central Park, she was attacked by a dormant Sentinel robot. The robot identified her not as a human mutant, but as a mutant Kree warrior.

Over her career, she has been affiliated with teams like the New Warriors, the 50-State Initiative, and the Avengers Resistance.

According to detailed comic databases like Comic Vine's Character Page, Ultragirl has appeared in 96 comic book issues. Her most prominent runs include her self-titled 1996 miniseries, a lengthy stint in Avengers: The Initiative (22 issues), and roles in major event tie-ins like Fear Itself: Youth in Revolt.

Facts:

Unlike standard heroes motivated solely by tragedy or altruism, Suzy originally embraced the superhero lifestyle partly as a career alternative after her physical changes ruined her high fashion modeling aspirations.

During the Dark Reign storyline, Ultragirl wore a replica of Carol Danvers' classic black-and-lightning-bolt Ms. Marvel uniform. However, Norman Osborn forced her to legally surrender the costume because he had acquired the rights to the "Ms. Marvel" name to launch his own Dark Avengers version (Moonstone).

After the Dark Reign era ended, Ultragirl tried out for a position with the New Avengers by applying to be a live-in nanny for Luke Cage and Jessica Jones' baby daughter, Danielle. She was ultimately rejected in favor of Squirrel Girl, leaving her quite offended when the rest of the Avengers couldn't even recall her name.
