July 2026 what's going on with 3 waves: Marvel, The Boys and X-Com

The X-Com Wave

Although it might seem like I’m only working on "The Boys" series right now, that’s not the case.

It is true that I am painting exclusively for "The Boys"—since the goal of reaching 39 figures (or even more...) is highly ambitious and demands a focused effort on that series alone—but it is also true that while I’ve put the Marvel new wave on hold, I am going full steam ahead with the XCOM project on STL side.

In fact, a great many of my recent uploads to Cults3D are dedicated to XCOM:

1-X-Com: It Was an Ambush (Team of 4 humans, including one wounded)

2-Enemy Unknown Skyranger

3-Xcom 2 War of The Chosen : Warlock, Assassin and Hunter (believe me: thi is a MUST download!!!)

4-Ufo Landing Site (new to me starting with diorama, and probably I'll never print it, but warmly requested from fans and followers)

5-Advent Van (just a troop transport veichle)

6-The Advent Speaker (a cult character for the CXFC)

7-Armory diorama X-Com (Expert users, another diorama)

8-Armory diorama X-Com Part 2 (6 figures ready for print to be added to the Diorama)

9-Gatekeeper X-Com 2 ( a nice view of the Keeper but finally opened and ready to shot)

10-Chryssalid ver.2.1

11-X-Com Floater (made as requested by a fan)

12-X-Com Advent Priest (made as requested by another fan)

I seriously think I'll stop the X-Com figures now.
This is also due the fact that I read about a official game of miniatures of X-Com is being launched soon.
And I say... Finally!!!!! After so many years of wait someone is doing what we wanted and wait for.

This, as a fan of the game, to be fair, leads me to the position that I prefer to buy the official game figures instead of continuing to produce my ones.
I did it because nobody was doing for a decade; now the wait is over, and maybe it is fair to leave the field to the official producers.

So, to finish this XCOM wave update: there is a lot of X-Com work unseen on Youtube channel but well growing on Cults3D.

The Boys Wave

The challenge for The Boys is there. I published up to #23/39, already a huge work but not yet completed.

And the worst part is that, thanks to my need for completeness, I’m seriously considering expanding the The Boys collection from 39 to 50 figures.

For one thing, 39 is an awkward number, whereas 50 really gives the impression of something complete and finished.
Plus, I feel the following characters deserve a spot on the "The Boys" shelf:

1 Ryan Buchter
2 Oh Father
3 Goldenboy
4 Grace Mallory
5 Bombsight
6 Andre Anderson
7 Tek Knight
8 Dogknott
9 Madelyn Stillwell
10 Swatto
11 Rock Hard

They are so many... But the good news are that if I pretend to extend up to 50 figures, well.... I already e-sculpted them all, it is only a matter of printing and painting.

I am not releasing The Boys STL's.
It remains something I do on my own for me and I only like to share the tutorials on Youtube.
My wish is that someone else get inspired by my works and the 1/21 scale can raise back to the glory that this scale deserves, compared to the multitude of 1/12 expensive articulated toys, but simply toys.

The Classic Marvel Comics Figurine Collection Wave

And what about Marvel?
Marvel is still my first love. I put in hold a bunch of more than hundred printed figures, but after The Boys I'll start again from my origins: Marvel Comics.
As usual, only obscure and semi-unknown characters that no one is going to produce for the market.
The fist characters, after The Boys end of collection, 99% will be Scarlet Centurion, that remains 80% painted alone and sad on the table, waiting that all those Boys pass forward...

In the meantime, all my rare, forgotten, unknown, semi-unknown, impossible CMFC characters are waiting the fan's download, as usual for free, on my Cults3D page.

Stay happy! Stay Skif!
(and above all: do it for free, fan to fans)
