Skif Marvel Customs: Gwenpool

Here is Gwenpool, courtesy of marvel.fandom :

Gwen Poole originally lived in our universe, a place where all super heroes and super villains were fictional characters that manifested through comic books, movies, and other media.

Gwen's difficulty to find a job after having been unable to graduate from high school, combined with the fact all of her friends moved away, led her to submerge in fiction in order to escape from her reality and fantasize about a better world, becoming lazy and apathetic, to the chagrin of her parents.(...)

The figure has been printed in resin with Anycubic Photon Mono 2 (scaled 1/20), downloaded thanks to cults.com

and painted with Model Colors, Italeri and Vallejo washing.

Hope you appreciate.

Please take few seconds of your time to visit her complete 4D in the Custom Galleries by clicking the link on the right side of this blog.

I am working on a new video, the making of Wallflowers, probably the next figure that is going to be issued on this blog, stay tuned!

Skif Marvel Customs: Miek

Courtesy Marvel_Fandom

Miek was a member of planet Sakaar's insectoid race known as "Natives". When he was young his father and most of his hive were attacked and killed by local Imperials, forcing Miek to flee underground. He was accidentally rescued, as an outcast slave, during Hulk's battle with the Red King. Soon after, the Warbound escaped with Miek secretly leading them to the place where his father was killed.

The Warbound then aided him in securing his revenge. Miek and Brood, who had formed a connection due to their insect nature, freed Miek's brothers and added the Warbound to his Hive. Within a short time he underwent a metamorphosis and evolved into a giant heavily armoured "King" version of his race.

Miek located one of the last Queens of his race, at an egg farm at which the Warbound were hiding. Unfortunately for Miek, and his species, the Queen was consumed by a Spike infection and had to be killed. Miek then led the Warbound in Hulk's place while Hulk, Hiroim, and Caiera attempted to obtain the allegiance of Caiera and the Shadow People.

Soon, Miek discovered that loyalists to the Red King had planted a damaged warp core on the Hulk's ship, hoping it would kill the Hulk, however Miek did not tell the Hulk hoping it would encourage the Hulk to keep destroying and to "remind him" that he was not a peacekeeper but a killer (...)

Dear all, I hope you will apreciate this huge effort: both the pics of the new Marvel Custom The Champion (in the version from MCOC 2023) and the second and final video of the making of this character.

Hopefully a new step, little step but a step, in the right direction for decent videos; hope you like it!

Thanks!

658 1/20 Marvels

One of the 2024 targets I had for this blog was also to adjust the numbering of the customs that I have done in these years. I did it yesterday evening.

The final correct count stands at 442, while wrongly it was represented until today the final value of 440. So that the mistake was: not having counted 2 customs, or, better, having wrongly numbered with the same number two different customs. And this happened 2 times.

So, briefly... the total Skif Marvel Customs you can see in the galleries is 442 updated today.

I was wondering the total amount of Marvel Figures I have in my collection. So I downloaded the Complete Eaglemoss Marvel Comics Figurine Collection final list, including Specials, Mega Specials and Double Packs. The list is this one below; I reported 15 figures I did not buy at that time.

Eaglemoss started with a beginning list about 80 figures of the collection. Later, due to the success of this collection,  started to extend to 120 and again and again... There was every month even a official poll in the official website, I remember, where customers could even express their preferences on which character should be in the new list of issues.

That was really democratic, amazing and new to me. The participation to the collection was so active even from the final customers side.

At that time I already had started with my customs, so that within one extension and the other it happened that Eaglemoss proposed some character that I already had customized before. For this reason I did not buy those official ones, being already satisfied with my own made.

This happened 15 times. So that Eaglemoss published in total 232 figures and I own 217.

Officially I made on my own, as said before, 442 figures. My fundamental principle was to not replicate any figure already published by Eaglemoss, never do twice the same character by changing version or cloths or color etc... I've never sold any figure, rather I gave it away for free to the fondest followers and this happened 4 or 5 times.

The final result of these choices was that today I own, in my home, one of the largest collection in the world of Marvel Figures scaled (1/20-1/24 i.e. 90 mm) where the final number is representing the real amount of different characters from the Marvel world. Not variants, not replicates. All of them are single shot, different char!

And... to get the scope of this post: what is the number of figures I own up today?

I made those 442 customs:

Sadly I have to subtract a figure from the calculation.
This is Korvus that I made for me and later gave away for free to a British follower.
It remained for years in the list even if I don't have it anymore. For sure I have Korvus in my wish list again, so that sooner or later he will be replaced... Let's take then 441 as the number of figures that are in my shelves.

By adding 217 official Eaglemoss to 441 I actually have 658 Marvel Figures 1/20.

That's a huge number.
They represent 658 different characters.

If you consider that I own also about 100 DC figures (Eaglemoss), 80 Marvel out of 1/20 scale (Eaglemoss), 30 Japanese Robots figures (Bandai), 80 Warhammer (Edicola Shop). 100 Lord of the Rings figures (Eaglemoss), 55 X-COM customs... you arrive to a total of... ...1103 figures.
This is absolutely insane.

Have a nice weekend!

Put the customs in a tube

Some months ago I set a group of targets for my hobby:

1-Revive the blog after years of inactivity (done)

2-Extend to X-Com custom figures (done... and believe me: more aliens and team member are planned!)

3-Correct all the galleries as pictures were missing due to the shutdown of several hosts  (done)

4-Start with new Marvel Comics custom figures (that's why we are here... aren't we? (done)

5-Add new available technologies to this hobby (done, I mean 3D printing possibilities)

6-Start a video channel (mmmhh... not yet?!)

I am glad to announce my first video attempt on Youtube. Probably one of the worst videos you ever seen on Youtube... but the beginning is always a shock for everyone!

If you want, if you like, give a look:

Marvel Customs Flashfire and Mangog

Flashfire

Courtesy of Wikipedia:

Flashfire, originally code-named Tempest, is a member of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. The character, created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Dave Cockrum, first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #107 (October 1977).

Flashfire can generate and fire bursts of light and electricity. Like many original members of the Imperial Guard, Tempest/Flashfire is the analog of a character from DC Comics' Legion of Super-Heroes: in his case Lightning Lad.

Mangog

Courtesy of Wikipedia:

Mangog is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

The character was described in his debut as being the sum total of the hatred of "a billion billion beings" – an alien race that once attempted to invade Asgard (thwarted by Odin, the ruler of Asgard and the Norse gods).

Imprisoned beneath Asgard, Mangog is freed by the rock troll Ulik, in a failed bid to secure an ally against the gods. Mangog storms Asgard, intent on drawing the Odinsword from its scabbard which will end the universe.

Thor battles Mangog to a standstill, until Odin dissolves the creature by breaking the spell which had created Mangog as a living prison for his entire race.

Mangog reappeared when freed by the god Loki, but was defeated when removed from the source of its power.

With the aid of the traitorous magician Igron, Mangog assumes the form of an imprisoned Odin, and intends to once again draw the Odinsword.

After a series of skirmishes with Thor, the creature is defeated when Thor frees Odin.

Last but not least, how can it be possible that in a Marvel collection of figures there are some missing characters like those one that I consider essential as a Marvel fan: Fu Manchu, White Dragon and Wendigo??

It is a dirty job, but someone has to do it :)

Stay tuned!
