658 1/20 Marvels

One of the 2024 targets I had for this blog was also to adjust the numbering of the customs that I have done in these years. I did it yesterday evening.

The final correct count stands at 442, while wrongly it was represented until today the final value of 440. So that the mistake was: not having counted 2 customs, or, better, having wrongly numbered with the same number two different customs. And this happened 2 times.

So, briefly... the total Skif Marvel Customs you can see in the galleries is 442 updated today.

I was wondering the total amount of Marvel Figures I have in my collection. So I downloaded the Complete Eaglemoss Marvel Comics Figurine Collection final list, including Specials, Mega Specials and Double Packs. The list is this one below; I reported 15 figures I did not buy at that time.

Eaglemoss started with a beginning list about 80 figures of the collection. Later, due to the success of this collection,  started to extend to 120 and again and again... There was every month even a official poll in the official website, I remember, where customers could even express their preferences on which character should be in the new list of issues.

That was really democratic, amazing and new to me. The participation to the collection was so active even from the final customers side.

At that time I already had started with my customs, so that within one extension and the other it happened that Eaglemoss proposed some character that I already had customized before. For this reason I did not buy those official ones, being already satisfied with my own made.

This happened 15 times. So that Eaglemoss published in total 232 figures and I own 217.

Officially I made on my own, as said before, 442 figures. My fundamental principle was to not replicate any figure already published by Eaglemoss, never do twice the same character by changing version or cloths or color etc... I've never sold any figure, rather I gave it away for free to the fondest followers and this happened 4 or 5 times.

The final result of these choices was that today I own, in my home, one of the largest collection in the world of Marvel Figures scaled (1/20-1/24 i.e. 90 mm) where the final number is representing the real amount of different characters from the Marvel world. Not variants, not replicates. All of them are single shot, different char!

And... to get the scope of this post: what is the number of figures I own up today?

I made those 442 customs:

Sadly I have to subtract a figure from the calculation.
This is Korvus that I made for me and later gave away for free to a British follower.
It remained for years in the list even if I don't have it anymore. For sure I have Korvus in my wish list again, so that sooner or later he will be replaced... Let's take then 441 as the number of figures that are in my shelves.

By adding 217 official Eaglemoss to 441 I actually have 658 Marvel Figures 1/20.

That's a huge number.
They represent 658 different characters.

If you consider that I own also about 100 DC figures (Eaglemoss), 80 Marvel out of 1/20 scale (Eaglemoss), 30 Japanese Robots figures (Bandai), 80 Warhammer (Edicola Shop). 100 Lord of the Rings figures (Eaglemoss), 55 X-COM customs... you arrive to a total of... ...1103 figures.
This is absolutely insane.

Have a nice weekend!
