Marvel Comics Customs Wave-5 and X-Com Customs Wave-2: What's bubbling in the pot?

As written a few blogs ago, I spent a few weeks carefully researching 3D images in STL format that could be used as custom for my works.

In recent weeks I have also become familiar with the software (totally free online) SculptGL to directly e-sculpt my first customs to print in 3D.

In the past few days I have consumed almost 4 liters of resin to print the work that will practically feed two years of this blog...

This month I reached a new record for monthly visits!

Until yesterday the record had been held by October 2012, with 2103 views. The month of July 2024, which has yet to end, has already exceeded 2104 views and for this I thank you.

I would never have hoped that after 5 years of inactivity, this blog would resume its former rhythms.

Thanks thanks thanks.

Perhaps the only regret is that having practically changed 100% of the audience that follows me, the comments I receive on the blog are very rare. And this is a pity, because with your comments the blog would really have much more value for me.

I encourage you to leave me in the comments: questions, suggestions, criticisms and compliments. I would like the blog to be a resource of entertainment and interest both for me and for you who read it.

So here is Wave 5 of the Marvel Comics Customs collection, maybe I forgot some character that deserves to be taken into consideration for a custom? Write it to me!

The following 42 new characters are expected to join the tribe in wave 5:

Wave 5 Skif Marvel Comics Customs 2024/2025

And during next days, after wave 1 that took place in 2023/2024, it will start also the second wave of X-Com Custom Figures with 27 new humans and aliens to join the battle for the planet:

Wave 2 X-Com Skif Custom Figures

I really hope you will be here to see how everything will be developed.

Have fun, have love

Marvel Comics customs: Mojo (no Eaglemoss, printed 3D)

Courtesy marvel.fandom :

(...) Mojo is part of a race of spineless beings from a planet later named after him known as Mojoworld in a pocket dimension dubbed the Mojoverse. The race were slowly driven insane by waves of energy ("Television Signals") from another space/time continuum somehow scattered throughout their timeline. The were bombarded with images of strange "demon"-like creatures. It would take centuries (of their time) for them to discover the origin of these transmissions. Mojo's race did not evolve much because of their inability to stand upright, until a scientist named Arize developed exoskeletons that allowed a fast technological revolution. However, some members of the race refused to use them and called themselves the Spineless Ones. Instead, they used motorized platforms to transport their bodies. (...)

And Mojo is one of the issues of the official Eaglemoss CMFC (Classic Marvel Figurine Collection) I didn't buy. At that time I choose not to buy because I was wondering to do my own custom for Mojo and as said many times, I do not have the same character twice in my collection. So after many years after the end of the CMFC from Eaglemoss, I have this opportunity to comply one of my wishes: my own Mojo.

Despite many sites are selling the .stl file of Mojo for printing, with a range of price from 12€ up to 75€ (according to lite variations of its pose)... this guy Kobarf is giving his stl file for free on Thingiverse:

If you click on the picture above you will be redirected to Thingverse page of Kobarf to download your .stl file for free. Respect for Kobarf; leave him a like if you can and want help him.

The .stl offered by Kobarf is a 35 mm miniature, ideally.

I scaled Mojo to the Eaglemoss 90 mm (that is 1/20 scale) and I added Mojo finally to my collection.

Here is the result:

eventually for reference...:

So, if you want to have your own home-Mojo you know what to do. And if you need tips about painting Mojo.... just watch this video on my Youtube channel:

Peace and love, always.

And let's keep internet free.

Marvel Comics Custom: Aquarian

 Thanks wikipedia.org

Wundarr the Aquarian is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik and first appeared in Adventure into Fear #17.

A pastiche of Superman, Wundarr was created based on Gerber's "love of the Superman character and (...) desire to do a little parody/homage".

Despite every possible imagination, Aquarian 4D view ia available in the Gallery page "over 450 customs", please take a quick look to.

Marvel Comic Custom Nightside

 Courtesy of  Marvel.com

Her name is Sydney Taine, and by trade, she is a detective. But her investigations -- and her clients -- are far more dangerous than those of an ordinary private eye's. Her work takes her into the darkest corners of society -- to those places and beings that most people don't even know exist into the Nightside. She moves in a world of warring factions of supernatural creatures that call themselves "The Others." They appear to be human, but behind the facade lie thirsts, passions, and powers far beyond any normal human's. For you see, they've lived among us since before recorded history. Joining her is her partner Key "Ape" Largo, whose incredible intellect and heart are hidden in a massive body. Together, they stand between us and the forces of darkness that are concealed under the shade of night!

Sooooooo... picture:

Marvel Custom: Mindless

Since years I had the wish to custom Mindless, it was one of my projects when I stopped blogging years ago (I already explained I stopped the blog for 5 years to dedicate my life to the health of my son).

In the very beginning it was a custom I had intention to do scratch built, using Super Sculpey, and the figure remained at 20 or 30% of its production, and was never completed.

Since I started again the blog last year I started to use also 3D printed figures from Stl files.

I also started to use Sculptgl, a online totally free software for 3D sculpting; well my very first 3D designed figure has been Mindless that finally has been painted today.

If you like you can download, of course totally free, the Stl from my Cults3D page at:

Don't forget to give a look at the Mindless 4D pictures in the gallery and if you like give a look at the video of the making:

Impressive amount of work this weekend

Dear followers, if any, unfortunately I am not going to post any new custom this weekend,

I really wanted to finish a couple of customs I almost done... but I was organizing this weekend activities for months and I did not imagine that it would be so time consuming and challenging like it has been up to now... I'll tell you in a moment what I am talking about, please continue to read...

So I did not have any time to paint. Consequently no new video on my Youtube page either... soo bad!!

In reality I spent a lot of funny time on e-sculpting new characters (only some to mention... Bi Beast, Voyager, Titan, Unus, Ex Nihila... ).

I already wrote months ago that I wanted to learn and practice e-sculpting to avoid the excticion as a clay modeler... and I am really satisfied so far. Moreover I hope to get some extra visit to my blog also from Cults3d visitors. Let's see.

Of course You can see and download those works I mentioned  (if you love to print them) for free in my Cults3D page at: Skif_MC 3D models page

Coming back to the activities of the weekend... in the last months I selected, e-customized, scaled and prepared for 3D printing more than 50 figures!

Yes, you read it correctly, more than 50.

While I am typing this blog the 3D printer is still working with no rest, day and night. 😉

It is a game of organization and planning.

Consider that 50 customs is the avarage workload of more than one year of custom for me. From now I'll have only to modify those with milliputs small parts, and then paint, paint, paint like hell.

In this moment 14 figures still to be printed and then I finished this huge work.

As usual I will not anticipate anything more, because I love to surprise you when you gently visit my blog..

I only want to say that half of the new characters are Marvel Comics related and the rest is a new wave of X-Com figures. It will be incredible, devastating.

A wave of new customs as never seen before here or in any other customizer blog.

Stay tuned my dear!

I can't be definitely so bad to not post really anything.. So the only anticipation for you guys is one of the 3D prints done this weekend.

That's my version of  Bi-Beast, based on a Rhino STL file e-customized by me with SculptGL, by removing and replacing the hands and the feet, removing Rhino mask and the horn, adding the second head and e-sculpting the skin. Hope you like it!

And.. yes: I am printing one by one, adding a tag each one, printing the base for every custom and finally separating each one in a dedicate bag. Maniacally organized! 😀😀😀

Stay prepared, really prepared, next weekend will be DEVASTATING! 3 liters of resin for printing has gone!

Challenging saturday.... Marvel Comics Custom Erika Fortune (Spellbound)

Thanks Marvel Fandom :

(...) Erica Fortune was a New York University teacher who discovered she possessed great telekinetic power when her boyfriend, a parapsychology professor, tested her.

Soon after, she and her boyfriend came across two otherdimensional aliens who had used a pair of "power rings" to escape their servitude to a "spellbinder," Zxaxz, and had detected Fortune as another spellbinder. Zxaxz demanded his power rings back, and Fortune battled him, donning the rings herself to amplify. Fortune joined forces with the New Mutants and Lila Cheney to defeat Zxaxz.

Later, a third, more powerful spellbinder, the Other, came to Earth, and Fortune joined forces with Zxaxz to battle this new threat, with the help of her brother Roy, who used the rings to amplify his own latent powers. (...)

Marvel Comics custom: Golden Girl

 Thanks Tony Lewis OMU:

(...) Thus, after a brief period of intensive training, Ross donned a green-and-gold costume and went into action as the Golden Girl, causing a sensation in the press. Lavender and her gang were quickly captured. Not long afterward, Golden Girl accompanied Captain America on a mission into an alien dimension. As the pair faced many perils together, Ross became quite intimate with Mace, who had served in the wartime Liberty Legion as the Patriot before taking over as Captain America. Before long, they surrendered to the sexual tension that boiled over from their life of thrills and danger and began a torrid love affair.

After about two years, Betsy Ross decided to retire her costumed identity. Never entirely comfortable in the role of superheroine, she also realized that, as she was now in her early 30s, she wanted to settle down and have a family. Soon after, Mace gave up being Captain America and the two were married. They moved to Boston, where he resumed his career as a newspaper reporter and she became a housewife. (...)

If you like you can watch the 4D view in the gallery and the brief video Making Golden Girl.
